Dartmouth senior lecturer position
Senior Lecturer in Chinese, Dartmouth College
The Asian Societies, Cultures, and Languages Program (ASCL) invites applicants for a replacement position at the Senior Lecturer rank in Chinese Language for the academic year 2018-2019. Appointment will become effective July 1, 2018, with teaching duties beginning in September 2018. Applicants for this position must have native or near native proficiency in Modern Standard Mandarin Chinese and English, and experience teaching university/college-level Chinese within a classroom setting. A candidate possessing the ability to incorporate new technologies and pedagogical approaches into language teaching and course design is highly desirable. Pending student demand and ASCL resources, the position may be extended into the subsequent year/s. Applicants must possess a MA degree; a Ph.D. is preferable. The degree should be in Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language or a related field.
The successful candidate will teach five language courses over a period of three academic terms (i.e., fall, winter, and spring).
