William and Mary position
Visiting Instructor of Chinese Studies, C of William & Mary #F0612W
The College of William and Mary invites applications for a full-time Visiting Instructor position in Chinese language to begin August 10, 2016. The position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal pending on performance.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have an M.A. in Chinese language pedagogy, literature, linguistics, or related fields. Applicants must be able to teach the Chinese language at all levels, have familiarity with classroom technology and current foreign language pedagogy, and possess native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English.
Preferred: Experience teaching Chinese at the college level is highly desirable. Experience or willingness in directing a summer China study-abroad program would be a plus.
Candidate must apply online at http://jobs.wm.edu/postings/23156.  Submit curriculum vitae, a cover letter including a statement of teaching philosophy and interests, three sample language course syllabi, and a video recording of actual classroom teaching. You will be prompted to submit online the names and email addresses of three references who will be contacted by us with instructions for how to submit a letter of reference.
For full consideration, all application materials including three letters of reference must be submitted by the review date, February 15, 2016. Applications received after the review date will be considered only if needed.
