One-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Chinese Language and Literature/Culture The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Western Washington University seeks applications to its temporary vacancy pool for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning September, 2015.
Seeking a specialist in Chinese Language and Literature or Culture. This position is interdisciplinary, with primary teaching responsibilities in Chinese language and literature, as well as a general survey course focused on East Asian civilization and/or culture. Required qualifications include a Ph.D in hand or ABD near completion in Chinese literature, East Asian literatures, or related degree with significant emphasis in Chinese literature or culture; native or native-like Chinese and English proficiency; commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates should submit a letter of application describing teaching philosophy, CV, graduate school transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a sampling of teaching evaluations.
