Eco-literature AAS 2016 panel–cfp
Chinese Eco-literature Panel AAS 2016
Call for papers for a panel on Chinese eco-literature (and other media, including eco-cinema, depending on panelists’ interests) to submit to AAS 2016. Of particular interest are analyses of local Chinese and Sinophone articulations of humanity’s relationship with nature and global environmental destruction. Possible themes include challenges to anthropocentrism, ecological utopia/dystopia, environmentalism and marginalized (gender, sexual, ethnic, class) identities, eco-cosmopolitanism, global capitalism and climate crisis, the Anthropocene, etc. Please email abstracts of no more than 250 words to the panel organizer, Cara Healey (chealey at umail.ucsb.edu), by July 20.
