William and Mary position
Associate or Advanced Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies #F0536W 
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary seeks applications for a tenure-track position at the Associate or Advanced Assistant Professor level in Chinese language and literature beginning August 10, 2016. Area and period of specialization is open, with preference given to candidates who have experience in teaching both pre-modern and modern literature. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chinese language, literature, culture or a related field. Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English is required. He or she should have a strong record of scholarly publications and achievements. Devotion to program development and administration is expected, and so is commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching expectation is two courses per semester. Candidate will also be expected to direct summer study abroad program on an alternating basis.
Salary is approved up to $80,000 and commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.
