Thanks for this posting. At any rate, there hasn’t been so much discussion on ideological positioning since the 1980s and 90s. In 2013 the book “Lun qunzhong luxian– zhongyao lunshu zhainian” 论群众路线——重要论述摘编 (On the Mass Line– Selected Key Excerpts) Beijing: Zhongyang wenxian, 2013) (some of the material is readily available online) traces the concept of “the masses” from Marx, Engels, and Lenin to Mao, Deng, Jiang, Hu and Xi. The internet never killed ideology, just means digital bottling.
