Tisch School of the Arts and LeTV invite you to a conversation with
Oscar-winning director Ang Lee and acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou
at the Fredrick P. Rose Auditorium at Cooper Union on March 27 at 8:00 pm.

Director Ang Lee’s insight into the human conditions has allowed his films
to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers to speak to audiences all
over the world. At the same time, one of the most recurrent themes of
Zhang Yimou’s films is the exploration of Chinese culture and the
resilience of Chinese people in the face of hardship and adversity. In
this event, Mr. Lee and Mr. Zhang will discuss their work as filmmakers,
share their experiences in the industry, and engage in a conversation
about the Chinese-language Cinema and the power of culture in film
production. The first director of Chinese descent to receive an Academy
Award nomination, Professor Christine Choy from Tisch School of the Arts
(New York University) will moderate the conversation. The conversation
will be followed by a Q&A with the general audience.
