It's incredible that the NY Times fails to mention that the Qianlong
Emperor and the Qing Dynasty were Manchu, not Han. The article is ignorant
at best, intentionally misleading at worst, in that it would lead the
casual reader to assume the emperor and dynasty in question were Han and
the fabled romance were between a Uighur concubine and a Han emperor, not
between Uighur and Manchu.
