Though I do not follow politics in Taiwan closely, there are a couple
factual errors in Asia Times' reporting on the current political crisis
involving President Ma Ying-jeou and parliament speaker Wang Jin-pyng
(President of the Legislative Yuan since 1999). Wang is accused of having
colluded with the judiciary in favor of--not against--Wang's--not
Ma's--friend in the opposition party DPP, Ker Chien-ming, whose guilty
verdict in an embezzlement case had been overturned though he was still
facing a re-trial for breach of trust.
