The Chinese Studies Research Group of the San Francisco Bay Area welcomes
interested faculty, independent scholars and graduate students to join us
for the 2013-14 academic year.  The group meets three times a year at the
University of San Francisco Center for the Pacific Rim to share research
in progress and stimulating discussion on topics such as Chinese history,
literature, art history, anthropology, sociology, and political science.

Frederik H. Green, PhD, Assistant Professor of Chinese; Associate
Director, SF State Chinese Flagship Program, Department of Foreign
Languages and Literatures, San Francisco State University
Research Topic:  "The Sky is the Limit: Chinese Leitmotiv Cinema and the
Popularization of State Myths"?

Doctoral candidates interested in presenting alongside the above faculty
should contact Melissa Dale via e-mail by October 15, 2013.  Please
include your name, affiliation, advisor, and research topic.  One doctoral
candidate will be selected to present at each meeting.
