The Humanist Faculty at Stockholm University announces 12 PhD positions.
Two of the positions are located at the Department of Oriental Studies
within Chinese and Japanese Studies. Please spread the word to possible

The Department of Oriental Languages at Stockholm University announces the
following positions:

 
1 PhD position in Asian Languages and Cultures (Chinese)
 
1 PhD position in Asian Languages and Cultures (Japanese)

 
The two new positions are preferably in line with the department’s focus
on modern and contemporary literature and culture.

 
The positions will first be granted for one year and after positive
evaluation renewed for up to two years at a time. The total employment
time may not be longer than the equivalent of four years of doctoral
studies full time. In order to increase students’ employability the
Department of Oriental Studies welcomes Ph.D. candidates to participate in
the Department’s teaching and administrative tasks with a maximum of 20 %,
and in this case the total employment time may be extended by up to one
year (altogether 5 years of employment). Please note that decisions on
employment as a Ph.D. student cannot be appealed.

 
Deadline for applications is October 15th 2013.
