In a recent issue of Pathlight, English translations of seven science
fiction stories by contemporary authors such as Liu Cixin, Wang Jinkang,
Chen Qiufan, and Hao Jingfang are featured, together with an article
co-authored by Wu Yan and Xing He.

The even more exciting news is that Santi, the most popular science
fiction novel in China today, has been translated into English. Its first
volume, translated by Ken Liu, who is himself a science fiction writer
writing in English and winning two Nebula Awards, will be published by
Tor, a major press specializing in science fiction and fantasy books.

(Of course, this announcement is a little misleading, for we know Lao
She's Cat Country and Chang Hsi-kuo's The City Trilogy were translated and
published a long time ago.  Still, this novel, called "The Three-Body
Problem" in English, will be the first translation of a major novel from
China's new wave of science fiction)
