Chinese Language Instructor (UNC-Chapel Hill)


The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill invites applications for a
Chinese language instructor for fall 2013 and spring 2014. We are seeking
a skilled language instructor with a commitment to a proficiency-based
approach to language. Responsibilities include teaching first-year or
second-year Chinese, holding office hours, and participation in program
planning. Other responsibilities may include developing teaching
materials, enhancing curricula, and organizing extracurricular programs
for students. The pay is on a per-course basis, $6,500 per course per
semester. This is a temporary position that carries no benefits. The
teaching load will be from 1 to 3 sections per semester. The number of
sections each semester will depend upon program needs, funding,
enrollment, and the instructor’s qualifications and availability.
