Boston University is seeking a full-time lecturer in Chinese literature on
a one-semester contract for the Fall 2013 semester to teach two courses
and provide general advising to undergraduates (this one-semester position
is not eligible for University benefits). Field of specialization open.
Courses will include one introductory survey of premodern Chinese
literature in translation and a second course on any topic in Chinese
literature in English translation, tailored to the candidate's expertise.
Candidates should hold the PhD or be near completion of a dissertation.
Please submit a CV, cover letter, and the names and contact information
for three people willing to write references. If available, descriptions
or syllabi for two undergraduate courses in Chinese literature (in
translation) in your topics of teaching expertise may be provided. Please
indicate if you will be attending the AAS Annual Meeting in San Diego as
some interviews may be conducted there. Preference for applications
received by March 15, but applications will be accepted until the position
