The Chinese avant-garde photographer Wang Guofeng 王国锋 specializes in
taking pictures of socialist-era monumental buildings in China, the former
Soviet Union, and North Korea.  He took pictures of the "Ten Great
Buildings" of Beijing completed around 1959, including the Military
Museum.  Key pathos/keys: (post)socialist nostalgia, utopia, idealism.  If
you just type his name and titles of works, you will find such pictures on
Google.  But I don't know if these images are good enough for book
publication.
