Call for Contributions - Sense of Cinema World Poll 2013

For the tenth iteration of its World Poll, Senses of Cinema invites
contributors and readers to nominate the best films of 2013 to be posted
online in early January 2013. You may choose to limit your choices to
titles released in your country of residence during the year, or select
from the full viewing range including commercial releases, film society
and film festival screenings, straight-to-DVD titles and retrospectives.
You may also choose to include in your wrap-up a list of the worst or most
overrated films of the year.

Please do not just list every film you have seen this year, old or new.
The focus must be on your select best films of the year – please be
discerning! Also, regarding retrospective titles, we ask that you restrict
such mentions to those seen at the cinema or a festival, or newly released
on DVD (or otherwise made available for the first time) in 2013. This is
not a forum to list all your catch up viewing, your list must relate to
viewing that could only happen in 2013.

Submissions should primarily consist of lists, annotated or otherwise, but
you are welcome to include short general reflections on the year in
cinema. Such reflections must not exceed 300 words.

Each film title must be in the original language (except for Japanese,
Chinese and Russian, and so on, where transliterations are preferred),
accompanied by an English translation (if required), the director's name
and the film's release date. The title must be as given on the film, with
accents included. For example: Norte, hangganan ng kasaysayan (Norte, the
End of History, Lav Diaz, 2013)

Please remember to include your author by-line (no more than one line).
Please do not include any hyperlinks or URLs in your byline.

The deadline for contributions is 19th December 2013. However, Senses
would greatly appreciate submissions as soon as possible. Please email
