It was with deep sadness that I read of Julia Lin's passing. She was one
of the most gracious people I have ever known, generous with her time and
praise, offering encouragement to younger scholars like myself. Although
her work was groundbreaking, she was very humble about it. I consider
myself blessed to have known her, and my thoughts are with her family and
friends.
