Subject: Clinton must visit Chen (1)
******************************************************
It is a contradictory historic moment that highlights the concept of
"human rights" in international relations.
It highlights perceptions or beliefs that there was once a "human rights"
position, in which certain countries upheld human rights while others did
not?
Was "human rights" ever a universal principal applied like a law across
all nations no matter what the economic and political standing?
Or was the invocation of "human rights" a selective tool to be ignored
when it hindered support of governments needed for economic gain?
Was there ever a New World Order, or was it always just a question of how
we represented the Real World Order?
All the best,
Sean
