Sina Weibo had a very sharp remark by Wang Shuo circulating yesterday. "The
same kind of people who are called fascists in Japan and Nazis in Germany
are called patriots in China."

"这个连街头的小偷都不敢呵斥的民族，却有勇气高呼灭了小日本。这个连活着同胞的苦
痛都漠不关心的民族，却有脸说不忘死去的同胞。
有这么一群人，在日本叫法西斯，在德国叫纳粹，在中国叫爱国者！——王朔"

Coming from a country with a Nazi past, and a fascist past even before
that,
I would be very hesitant to use these words for contemporary phenomena. But
there is certainly a great deal of news and remarkable discussions floating
around in China.
