[Folkserv] Nov 3: Photographic & community work of Alexandra McNichols-Torroledo

As you may have heard, photographer Alexandra McNichols-Torroledo<https://www.alexandramcnichols-torroledo.com/> will give a lecture on campus this Thursday, Nov. 3, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Barnett Center Collaboratory (Sullivant Hall 141). This event is made possible by an Artist Trajectory Grant from the Colombian Ministry of Culture, as well as support from Indiana University’s Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies.

Alexandra’s lecture will showcase her photography printed on coca paper and will feature discussion about how Indigenous communities of the Amazon are affected by deforestation and the so-called Global War on Drugs. Following the lecture, we will hold a mini-reception (12:30 - 1 pm) to meet the artist and socialize. This event counts toward the Diversity, Intercultural and Community Engagement (DICE) Certificate Program through the Center for Belonging & Social Change.
