Dear all,

This is a talk of interest. Don’t get stuck on the title of her chair–our new colleague Lydia Walker has done extensive fieldwork in local languages in NE India and is figuring out how to create a backup digital archives at the Mershon Center to preserve records and oral histories of non-state movements on their own terms, for their own purposes—not online and not open-access. Accordingly, she’s especially interested in figuring out ethical collaborative protocols and welcomes discussion on that point. She’s also starting to look for other groups and movements to whom the resource might be useful.
