Hello everyone,

Welcome back from spring break! The club will be meeting this Friday (3/27) at 5:30pm in Caldwell 120-pizza will be provided. This meeting will be a talk about Serial Protocols and Communication. Knowing how to use UART, SPI and I2C protocols are super useful skills that anyone wanting to use microcontrollers in their projects should know. It is especially important in interfacing with peripherals like Real Time Clocks, Temperature/humidity/pressure sensors, and all sorts of more complex displays like the Nokia 5110.

There are two meetings left before the OHI/O MAKEathon that we are hosting. The topics will be geared towards giving you all good primers on skills like Internet of Things and Serial communications and should help make your project awesome! If you haven't pre-registered yet, don't worry. The formal registration process will be opening up later this week so look for another email! The website for the event will be live as well at that time which will contain any and all information you might need to know.

The last few things are clerical in nature:

* The club website has acquired a domain name. We are now located at http://electronicsosu.com so come check it out

* The club room will be unavailable to members with Full Lab access this Wednesday from 7-9pm due to a planning session for the MAKEathon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

* Also, the south-west orange door in the power lab (leads upstairs to the SW door of Caldwell) must remained closed at all times. If a broom is propping it open, please remove it. It's not convenient but a grad student had his laptop stolen, basically losing his research. We just want to make sure that we're not doing anything that can cause this sort of thing.

Thanks,

Eric Bauer
