[Drupal] migration issue

Thanks Brian. I appreciate your taking the time to suggest this list…a lot of it we had checked, but it was stepping through the list as a double check and your last comment about APC that led me to the solution:

We were trying to run a Drupal 6 site with php 5.4. The other installs I'd done were with Drupal 7, so I built out the stack the same way I did before. But, going back and reverting to php 5.3 for this Drupal 6 site fixed our problems. I was mostly just reverting to clean out the errors, etc, and make it easier to track down the issue. But something in there really didn't like 5.4, because once I changed it, the site displayed fine.

On subsequent searching, I believe the "something" in question is Panels: http://drupal.org/node/1469736, so we'll have to revisit at some point, but we're working for the moment.

Thanks again,
Meghan

Hi Meghan,

I have no idea, but here are several questions that I thought of that may or may not help:

  * Does admin/reports/status show any permission issues?
  * Are the permissions on the files correct?
  * Did you flush the Drupal cache?
  * Did you change anything in your settings.php file (such as database prefixing)?
  * Anything abnormal in the logs admin/reports/dblog?
  * Did you change domain names?
  * Are the block, views, panels, etc modules still enabled?
  * Are you seeing any errors on the file system page: admin/settings/file-system?
  * Have you tried disabling any caching or aggregated css/js here: admin/settings/performance?
  * Are you using APC with PHP? Have you tried flushing the opcode cache?

I hope that helps!
-Brian

Hi all,

We're moving a Drupal 6 site to a new server. The database is staying the same, we just need to move the site files.

We get the files copied over, but the blocks and/or views and/or panels don't seem to be rendering on the new site. I see our theme, I can log in as an administrator and configure the site, I can even see the content in the straight, view all content list.

But the meat of the site, on the homepage and elsewhere, is blank. It appears to just not be rendering any blocks.

Have any of you seen something similar? Or have any genius ideas?

Thanks,
