A reminder to those who raise fish/seafood, commercially catch and sell fish, or are a retail outlet that sells fish raised or caught in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, or Vermont and would like to include their business on a new, regional website to launch later this month. See below for details and link to a form to fill in your business information (if you have not already); photos and videos can also be included. If you were contacted by Sea Grant staff from any of these states and answered these questions by phone, your information has been recorded for inclusion. The Great Lakes FreshFishFinder, a new website to launch later this spring, aims to directly connect fish producers to consumers through an interactive, web-based, Great Lakes-wide platform.

It will host fish producers of all types (e.g., food, bait, stocking, fee fishing, ornamental) from eight Great Lakes states (i.e., Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York) and Lake Champlain (Vermont). The website will feature a map where fish producers are identified with pins. When a consumer clicks on a map pin, a webpage dedicated to that producer's business will appear. The producer webpage can contain information you provide to us such as your business name, address, contact, hours, what you sell, and a photo.

The Great Lakes FreshFishFinder is a consumer-focused website linked to the Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative website<https://greatlakesseagrant.com/aquaculture/>, another Great Lakes wide Sea Grant effort to educate both aquaculture producers and the public across the region.


A reminder that food fish aquaculture producers in the twelve states in the North Central Region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, can also add their business to Eat Midwest Fish<https://eatmidwestfish.org/>, an online resource hub hosted by Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant<https://iiseagrant.org/> that educates consumers about sustainable aquaculture in the Midwest.
