Ramathi Bandaranayake investigates resonances between Mrs. Dalloway and Dostoevsky’s The Idiot.

With reference to archival material (transcribed in her article’s appendices), Anne Fernald reconnects and rereads the relation between Vera Brittain and Virginia Woolf through their pacifism.

Han Au Chau transcribes the correspondence between Virginia Woolf and Ling Shuhua (published in full for the first time). Check out Chua’s article on Woolf and Shuhua in WSA 30 as well!

Cristina Testa likewise transcribes (and annotates!) for the first time Woolf’s Choephori notebook. (You can access scans of the notebook on WoolfNotes<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.woolfnotes.com/notebook-display/?pdb=28__;!!KGKeukY!3Z9OG9broyhd9J9E85BlvlRpsYPE5lD-DbwH2TmiHo6Cuam5NKo1WzC35B1WWrcSQUO6yQ11-GcTVqf3t7Q5g8zNuz03Ng$ >!)

In addition, Volume 31 includes six book reviews (a LOT more to come next year!) and also completes the enormous index of WSA volumes 1–30, which began in volume 28 and was continued in volumes 29 and 30.
