Call for Submissions: “1922” Cluster
Woolf Studies Annual Volume 28 (2022)

Next year marks a centenary for literary modernism (in general) and Virginia Woolf (in particular). 1922 saw the publications of James Joyce’s Ulysses, T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, Woolf’s Jacob’s Room, and other work by Marcel Proust, Katherine Mansfield, D.H. Lawrence, Willa Cather, May Sinclair, Elizabeth von Arnim, and many others. The editor of Woolf Studies Annual (Benjamin Hagen) invites submissions for volume 28 that address Woolf in relation to this centenary. Submissions may focus on Jacob’s Room or consider Woolf’s life and work in relation to other texts or contexts relevant to the theme “1922.” Accepted submissions will make up a rich research cluster for the 2022 volume!

The editor welcomes shorter submissions (3,000–5,000 words) and full-length articles (8,000 words) for this cluster. Regardless of length, all submissions will still go through the standard peer-review process. Please send “1922” submissions via email to woolfstudiesannual at gmail.com<mailto:woolfstudiesannual at gmail.com> by 30 Sept 2021. For more information about Woolf Studies Annual, visit its Pace UP site. (Note: the journal is also open to submissions that do not address the topic of “1922.” WSA regularly features a themed cluster of essays in addition to articles on other topics and areas of research.)

Call for WSA Index Team
Woolf Studies Annual Volume 28 (2022); Volume 29 (2023); Volume 30 (2024)

The editor of Woolf Studies Annual (Benjamin Hagen) is looking to form a WSA Index Team that, together, will build a robust three-part index for the journal. Part One will cover volumes 1 through 10 (1995–2004) and will, hopefully, appear in Volume 28 (2022). Part Two will cover volumes 11 through 20 (2005–2014) and should appear in volume 29 (2023). Part Three will cover volumes 21 through 30 (2015–2024) and should appear in volume 30 (2024). If you are interested in collaborating with the editor on one or all parts of this project, please contact him at woolfstudiesannual at gmail.com<mailto:woolfstudiesannual at gmail.com> by 1 July 2021. Please provide a short CV and a brief description of your interest in the project. The editor also invites questions or inquiries.

Best to all,
Ben Hagen
