Oh, I was wondering about the Caws, Pat. The length would be good, too, for
a weekend read, and price ideal. I can supplement it with selections from
Lee and others. Take care! Todd

Todd,
You might consider Mary Ann Caws' short biography of Woolf (Overlook Press,
136 pp., inexpensive) which tells more about Woolf's friends and circle
(with a wonderful array of photos) than an examination of her writings.
Since you'll be delving into the works, this might be a good balance.
Best,
Pat

Hi Todd,

I think Alexandra Harris’s *Virginia Woolf *is a good, short, readable
biography. 170 pages and includes an assortment of photographs, painting,
drawings, etc.

I have never used it with students, but I imagine there are others on the
Listserve who have…

Dear Woolf Friends,

I'm writing to pick the vast collective brain of the list. I'm teaching
several works of Woolf-centric biographical fiction this fall, and want to
assign a brief, straightforward, readable biography by way of introduction
(for students unfamiliar with Woolf) and (for all of them) to ask questions
of method and ethics in biography and in biofiction.

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Best,

Todd
