I am at a loss: how would we know that Septimus is Clarissa’s double without VW’s statement? How can we connect them, except through similarities?

Over to you, Book Group.

Doubles don't necessarily have to be that similar. Jekyll and Hyde, Dostoyevsky's Golyadkin and his double, Joseph Conrad's The Secret Sharer. A double may actually be an evil twin or reverse image . . .

Septimus is intended to be Clarissa’s double, according to VW’s 1928 intro. In what ways are they similar?

I'm running a book club where we will be discussing Mrs Dalloway. Can you think of any good discussion points/questions?
