[Vwoolf] Quotation re. silence

It is a partly made-up quotation, and rather obscure in Woolf's oeuvre: from
"Anon" (Essays 6, p.595):

"But her [Mary Fytton's] passion, her disgrace, her humiliation are all
acted in dumb show. They are hidden either by silence, or by flourishes and
ornaments that amount to silence."

This is similar to that other (mis)quotation: "For most of history,
Anonymous was a woman."

Dear Woolfians: this quotation is often attributed to Woolf. 'The
history of most women is hidden either by silence, or by flourishes and
ornaments that amount to silence.' Is this a real VW quotation?
Thanks, Trudi Tate, Cambridge
