[Vwoolf] The homophobic and anti-feminist uses of Bloomsbury bashing

I just want to take the opportunity to remind Woolf-list folks of what I
think is still the best essay on the history of the Bloomsbury-bashing
phenomenon and its socio-political uses: Christopher Reed's "Bloomsbury
Bashing: Homophobia and the Politics of Criticism in the Eighties," which is
reprinted in its entirety and with a new introduction by Reed updating the
trend in Queer Bloomsbury (2016). One might do better to read that essay
instead of the recent one Vara refers to in the Telegraph.

Very best,

Brenda
