Hi Kristin,

I’m reaching out from Soulpepper Theatre Company, a local not-for-profit theatre company here in Toronto, to let you know about a play and literary event we have coming up in July. We are presenting the Canadian Premiere of Orlando<https://soulpepper.ca/performances/orlando/5784>, written by Virginia Woolf and adapted for the stage by Sarah Ruhl. We’re thrilled to be presenting this literary masterpiece and many of us here were inclined to read Woolf’s novel throughout June ahead of the show. This gave us the idea to start the Soulpepper Book Club, which is something I believe would be of interest to you.

The way it would work is that you and/or anyone in your club that are interested in joining us would read Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, at your own pace over the next month. There will be Book Club questions posted weekly to our Facebook<https://www.facebook.com/SoulpepperTheatre/> and Twitter<https://twitter.com/Soulpepper> using #SoulpepperBookClub. At the end of the next four weeks the reading would culminate in seeing a performance of Orlando on July 6<http://tickets.youngcentre.ca/single/EventDetail.aspx?p=10843&promo=BOOKCLUB> (7:30 PM), July 8<http://tickets.youngcentre.ca/single/EventDetail.aspx?p=10845&promo=BOOKCLUB> (1:30 PM), or July 10<http://tickets.youngcentre.ca/single/EventDetail.aspx?p=10846&promo=BOOKCLUB> (7:30 PM), which would be followed by a literary focused artists-led talkback for you and the other Soulpepper Book Club participants. This discussion would be like any other book club meeting, you would have the opportunity to talk about the novel, through a moderated discussion, with other book clubbers and literary minded people. It would also be an opportunity to delve further into the ways reading the novel informed your experience while seeing the version adapted for the stage.

We would love to see you and your other club members out at the theatre to join us for this inaugural launch of our Book Club. Tickets are $62 including both the performance and the book club meeting. If your whole club is interested and all able to commit to a specific performance I can try and work in a group discount. Otherwise, the use of the promo code BOOKCLUB will let us know you are attending the discussion after the show. And of course, everyone is welcome to the book club individually.
