[Vwoolf] Dalloway Day

If we do it on the third Wednesday of June, that means it will sometimes be the day before the annual conference-- most convenient, I'd say!

Subject: [Vwoolf] Dalloway Day

I'm excited to party in June, and also choose to privilege the day over the date.

That said, I do remember there being discussion last year about June 20, so I should look back and find why that date was settled on, but since the novel says “the middle of June” (5) I think of the second Wednesday in June, and not the third. The second of four Wednesdays, in my mind, is more “the middle" (2/4). This year, that would put Dalloway Day (I prefer this to Dallowday, but that’s just me) on June 13. I’m writing this as someone who has to refresh oneself on the scholarship about the date, and has never written about the particular date….

Anyway, looking at a desktop calendar, there could be no date more precisely “the middle of June” than (this year) the 13th…. Thoughts? Articles that vouch for the third Wednesday and not the second?
