Dear all,

I appreciated the input on Wikipedia, which appears to be more of an object of suspicion and hostility on one side of the pond than the other. I do think it is still worth chipping away - if just for the sake of students who will continue to consult it, regardless. The piece circulated by Mark Hussey is indeed an eye opener for students. I have found that the Wikipedia passage I circulated on 'Mary Hamilton in A Room of One's Own' works well as an exercise to sharpen students' critical responses to what they find stated as 'fact'.

On another point entirely I'd be grateful to know how/if I might obtain access to Ethel Smyth's letters to Woolf without crossing the pond....:) I am trying to figure out one of Woolf's letters to her, which I think i would understand better if I could see the letter to which it is evidently a response. Like many of Woolf's letters these are held in The Henry W. and Albert A. Berg Collection, New York Public Library. Is it possible to ask for copies of individual letters to be made?

Many thanks,

Margaret
