[Vwoolf] FW: Alex Zwerdling

Thank you Mark and Brenda.  Alex was a kind man and wonderful colleague, full of wit and wisdom.  He will be missed though his contribution to our understanding and thought live on.  His work on Woolf and his other scholarship are testaments to this. I am sad to know that he is no longer among us--and cannot find the words...

Alex had to fight his publisher to use the title; he also fought to support and legitimize the younger Woolf scholars at the time, myself included.
