[Vwoolf] woolf in wikipedia

Dear all,

I have recently signed up to the list at the suggestion of Stuart
(Clarke). I'd like to propose a collective project to check and correct
the (very many) references to Woolf in Wikipedia articles. This idea
came to me after I stumbled across a glaring (and inexplicable) error in
a footnote (currently note 3) to the article on 'Ellipsis'. This
prompted me to do some research into the phenomenon in Woolf who may
have been the first to use the verbal form 'dot, dot, dot' in a fiction.
In due course I will correct this error. In the meantime I would
appreciate feedback on the idea of a crowd searching by, and via the
list, to make sure the Wikipedia references to Woolf are correct. After
all, for better or worse, students use Wikipedia all the time. Indeed,
it was thanks to a student essay that I came across the above mentioned
error....:)
Best wishes,

Margaret
