Greetings,

If you wish to support the endangered Feminist Library in London, here is the most recent information and the opportunity to donate. Protests have lead to the eviction being delayed to April 30, but the library is still in a very dire situation.

All best,

Vara

Subject: News on the Save The Feminist Library Campaign - Protesters gather outside Southwark Council and more on our Emergency Fund

Dear Friend,

On Wednesday evening over 100 protesters gathered outside Southwark Council's offices to oppose the planned closure of the Feminist Library.

Our petition - with an incredible 14,637 signatures - was presented to councillors, whilst outside messages of support from local groups, prominent authors and activists such as Margaret Atwood, Sarah Waters and Gloria Steinem were read out to huge applause.

Banners and placards were held aloft and, to dramatically coincide with World Out Loud Reading Day, over 50 of us read from seminal feminist books housed in the Library. A stirring, collective performance, our voices reached a crescendo before falling silent. Over and over a chorus of herstories filled the air as we raised our voices in solidarity. It was an incredibly powerful night. For 40 years the Feminist Library has been at the beating heart of the women's movement, inspiring generation after generation to change the world.

We are so grateful for your invaluable support. We are incredibly pleased to announce that because of our campaigning and your support, the council has extended the eviction deadline to 30th April, but we still have a long fight ahead.

If you haven't yet made a donation to our Emergency Fund, will you save the Feminist Library by making a donation today?

Whether it's a one-off or a regular gift, every donation will make a difference. Our collective heritage is priceless, so please invest in our future. http://feministlibrary.co.uk/support/donate/<http://feministlibrary.co.uk/support/donate/%20>

Thank you so much,

The Feminist Library Collective
