The view Virginia Woolf had of the Cornish coast is under threat by the proposed construction of a block of six flats and a car park. Portminster Beach View Ltd. submitted the planning application to the Cornwall Council on May 8. The Council is expected to make a decision on July 14. St. Ives Town Council has already said it does not object to the plans.Local residents, many of whom are aware of the area's literary importance, have lodged complaints against the plans, according to the Western Morning News.Earlier plans for the construction of $3 million worth of flats near Talland House in 2003 were scrapped when Woolfians around the world wrote to object. Let's hope we can have the same impact this time. To submit your objections to the plan, send an email to planning at cornwall.gov.ukFor more details, visit this post on Blogging Woolf: https://bloggingwoolf.wordpress.com/2015/07/09/view-from-talland-house-threatened-by-planned-development/Paula Maggio
