[Vwoolf] Leonard's Virgins

Hi all,

The reference is to Leonard Woolf's second novel, entitled "The Wise Virgins", published shortly after his marriage to Virginia.  The book apparently satirizes some aspects of English upper class life, and takes on the same class and sexual issues as did Virginia in her novel, Night and Day.  Allegedly, Virginia suffered a terrible nervous breakdown after the publication of Leonard's novel, and nor did the novel score points with his mother, who was mortified.
