Recently discovered: a rather beautiful animation of The Great Frost (from Orlando) on YouTube, one of the longer segments of a TV film titled Simple Gifts first broadcast by PBS at Christmas 1977. The animation for this segment is the work of Hungarian-American Tissa David, and is accompanied by Jacobean-style music and wonderful narration by Hermione Gingold – think VW would have approved. If you have 15 minutes to spare, you could do worse than to spend it watching this.
