Let's hope for clogs. . . . I'd like to think the cover is ironic.

Even worse, it looks like a Tasha Tudor illustration with all those
soft colors, and is she standing on tiptoe or wearing heels?

WOOLF, Virginia (Transl. by Adriana Bottini)

NOTES: TGU In Italian "The front cover ... depicts the rather
contradictory, maybe paradoxical, colour illustration of a housewife in
an
open field, with blossoming trees, hanging out her washing ... It looks
like
the cover of a nineteenth-century domestic novel, not that of a
polemic
essay against patriarchy."

Adriana Bottini, the professional Italian translator of "Three
Guineas"
occasionally edited out anything that might seem still too radical for
a
contemporary Italian readership, such as ‘As a woman I want no
country’.
