On the other hand, I’m expecting a reply any day now – rather like Billy Bunter’s postal order.

Dear Nicci

Further to my tel. messages to you on 29 march and today, I should be grateful to be reassured that (1) you did receive the request below; and (2) when we might hear with a decision.

Thank you.

Stuart

Dear Nicci

Attached is a draft of our Virginia Woolf Society's 2011 Birthday Lecture for publication as a booklet of 150 copies. The author has been looking through the Monks House Papers (MHP) at the U of Sussex.

Where she's quoted from the MHP and we've found a published version, we've used (and checked) that one; otherwise, we've adopted her MHP quote.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that "fair dealing" doesn't apply to unpublished materials.

(1) You can find the unpublished TSE quotes by looking at these footnotes:

p.3, n.1
p.4, n.4
p.24, n.28
p.30, n.34
p.31, n.38

(2) For published letters, see these:

p.15, n.20
p.24, n.27

We should be grateful to receive permission to reproduce these short quotes. As I said, we will only be producing 150 copies.

With best wishes.
