Join the South Asian Studies Initiative for a meeting with survivors of the Bhopal Gas Leak Disaster on Wednesday, September 4 at 3:30 pm in 198 Hagerty Hall.

Bhopal is the capital city of the Madhya Pradesh state in central India. December 3, 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Leak Disaster. For four decades, gas-exposed communities in Bhopal have struggled with the devastating health and environmental impacts of the gas leak. Ahead of the anniversary, Bhopal survivors are touring the U.S. to revive global awareness of the causes and consequences of the worst industrial disaster in history. Please join an interactive conversation with the women from Bhopal who have been leading the struggle for justice and life with dignity.

This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the South Asian Studies Initiative working group and the Humanities Institute.
