*1) ODE Ohio Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP) Program:* The Ohio
Department of Education has released the new RFP for the Ohio MSP program (
http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?page=3&TopicRelationID=1694&ContentID=2356&Content=112222).
>From the ODE website:

Programs provide opportunities for advanced and ongoing professional
development activities that improve teachers’ subject matter knowledge and
knowledge of how students learn mathematics and science content. Projects
provide teachers an opportunity to work with more experienced teachers and
university faculty and to build collaborative peer groups in an effort to
facilitate job-embedded and sustained professional development.

The LOI is due *October 21*, and proposals are due *December 5.*

*2) ONR STEM for K-12 & Institutions of Higher Education:* The Office of
Naval Research has released the new announcement for the STEM for K-12 &
Institutions of Higher Education. From the FOA:

The ONR mission of STEM is to: foster an interest in, knowledge of, and
study in science, technology, engineering and mathematics nationwide to
ensure an educated and well-prepared naval and national STEM workforce. In
support of this mission, the following four investment priorities have been
identified:
● Inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. [Programs that
fall mostly within Grades K-10]
● Engage students in STEM-related hands-on learning activities with Naval
relevance. [Programs that fall mostly within Grades 3-12]
● Educate students to be well prepared for STEM employment in the Navy and
Marine Corps as well as supporting academic institutions and/or the Naval
contractor community. [Programs that fall mostly within Higher Education]
● Employ, retain and develop Naval STEM professionals. [Programs that fall
mostly within Higher Education and Professional Development]
White papers and proposals will be accepted throughout the open period of
FOA 12-002. This announcement will remain open until *30 September 2012* or
until replaced by a successor FOA, whichever first occurs.

Awards are anticipated to be *up to $200,000/year for 1-3 years,* though
proposals for larger monetary amounts will be considered. (The official name
of program is *Fiscal Year 2012 Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for
Navy and Marine Corps Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
(STEM) Programs *[12-002])
