[STEM-funding] US EPA GRO undergraduate and STAR graduate fellowships

*1) US EPA GRO undergraduate fellowships:* The EPA has announced the latest
competition for Greater Research Opportunities (GRO) undergraduate
fellowships (http://www.epa.gov/ncer/rfa/2012/2012_gro_undergrad.html). From
the announcement:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering Greater Research
Opportunities (GRO) undergraduate fellowships for bachelor level students in
environmental fields of study.  Subject to availability of funding, and
other applicable considerations, the Agency plans to award approximately 40
new fellowships by July 30, 2012. Eligible students will receive support for
their junior and senior years of undergraduate study and for an internship
at an EPA facility during the summer of their junior year.

The fellowship provides up to $19,700 per academic year of support and
$9,500 of support for a three-month summer internship. Applications due Dec
12.

*2) US EPA STAR graduate fellowships:* From the EPA Science To Achieve
Results (STAR) Fellowships For Graduate Environmental Study announcement (
http://epa.gov/ncer/rfa/2012/2012_star_gradfellow.html):

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering Graduate
Fellowships for master’s and doctoral level students in environmental fields
of study. Subject to availability of funding and other applicable
considerations, the Agency plans to award approximately 80 new fellowships
by July 31, 2012. Master's level students may receive support for a maximum
of two years. Doctoral students may be supported for a maximum of three
years, usable over a period of five years.

The fellowship provides up to $42,000 per year of support. Applications due
Nov 8.
