[Somean] So Mean color speaker this year

Hey folks,

Good news! It’s once again our turn to select a colloquium speaker this year.

As always, we’ll have a nomination phase and a voting phase. To nominate a speaker, email me or just reply to the list with:

  *   Their name
  *   Their affiliation (or if they don’t currently have them, where you think they are geographically at the moment)
  *   Some information about the kind of work they do and/or a link to their website
  *   A sentence or two about why you would be excited to have them give a talk here

Please send these by Thursday July 18th. Feel free to respond to the list with thoughts or discussion about the various candidates as they’re nominated. (Note that I’ll be afk from Monday the 8th to Wednesday the 17th so I won’t chime in during that time.)

I’ll compile the options and send out a ballot by July 22th and we’ll have until July 28th to vote.
