[Somean] Colloquium speaker selection

Hello So Meaners!

I hope this unusual May term is treating you all well and you are all safe and healthy.

This upcoming academic year it’s our turn to select a colloquium speaker. Due to the pandemic, all speakers will be virtual, which means that travel cost is not a factor and we can invite anyone in the world, or perhaps anyone in time zones where 4pm Friday EST/EDT is not the middle of the night.

Please send me your nominations by next Friday, May 29. Explanations of your reasons and/or links to webpages/CVs/etc would be appreciated also. I will compile the list and send it out for voting the following week.
