[Somean] Reading for Monday

Yesterday we decided that So Mean was going to start the quarter with 
ideologies and attitudes in L2 acquisition, with a variationist-friendly 
focus.  Then we'll move on to work on second dialect acquisition.  Toward 
the end of the semester, we'll be focusing on reading work by invited 
speakers coming for the speaker adaptation and language and place 
workshops in April.

To kick all this off, we'll be reading the attached paper on attitudes 
toward American and British English among Norwegian L2 English learners.

We also decided to start at the officially scheduled time of 12:10, rather 
than last quarter's delayed time.  We will continue meeting in Derby 60.
