Wednesdays and Fridays
12:45 am - 2:05 pm

Instructor: Kathryn Campbell-Kibler
 		   kbck at ling.osu.edu

Open to graduate & undergraduate students

This course provides hands-on training in science education at the Center
of Science and Industry (COSI @ http://cosi.org/). Students will work at
the Language Pod a working linguistics lab inside the museum
(http://www.cosi.org/exhibits/life). Students will learn about linguistics
research and be trained in how to communicate language sciences
information to the public, including child and adult visitors.

Labs in Life is a state-of-the-art laboratory inside the Life exhibition
at COSI. Researchers from OSU are conducting research in three visible
laboratory spaces.

Students will spend 4 to 6 hours per week at COSI, explaining the language
research to visitors, conducting demonstrations about language science,
and assisting in recruitment for the research studies. These COSI hours
will replace some regularly scheduled classes and will be scheduled at
various times in consultation with students and will include some evening
and weekend hours.
