USDA Certified Organic Survey Results: Ohio Highlights
On October 22, the United State Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released survey results from the 2019 Certified Organic Survey. Ohio remains among the top states in the number of organic farmers. Read more. <Read%20more.>
Organic Webinar Series planned for this Winter
Beginning in December, on the first and 3rd Wednesdays at 11 a.m., OFFER will serve up a variety of short webinars for organic growers and those who support them or would like to learn more about organic and cultural practices. Grant Proposal Opportunities
IPM Center Grants due in November
The North Central Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center has funding available through its Working Group and Critical Issues programs. NC-IPM priorities for 2021 include invasive species management, pollinator protection, and strategies to slow pesticide resistance. SARE Farmer Rancher<https://www.northcentralsare.org/Grants/Apply-for-a-Grant/Farmer-Rancher-Grant> proposals are due December 3, 2020. Annually, 4 to 6 Ohio producers are successful
in receiving this grant to support on-farm projects that protect natural resources, enhance communities, and boost profitability.

USDA NIFA’s OREI grants due in January
USDA NIFA’s Organic Agriculture Research and Initiative (OREI) grants are due January 14, 2021. These grants are highly competitive and may be used to fund curriculum development, conferences, planning, or research-extension projects of a targeted, regional, or multi-regional nature.
