[Sc-aquaponics] Question of the Day: High School Aquaponics

A high school in Ohio is interested in building their own aquaponics set up. It was mentioned that they could purchase blue-colored tanks from a company named Polytank.  They are wondering if there is a company in Ohio that would sell a 4' x 8' x 12" grow bed?

They plan to purchase a 300-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank from Tractor Supply Company for the fish, but the grow bed seems to be a sticking point.  They  can purchase a Botanicare grow bed that is 4' x 8' x 7" for $254.  There seems to be a common recommendation to have a media-filled grow bed that is 12" in depth.  

Do you have any recommendations for them for an inexpensive, effective grow bed?
